李佳教授简介:李佳教授于1987年在美国田纳西大学数学系获博士学位;1987-1990年先后在美国田纳西大学美国能源部洛斯阿拉莫斯国家实验室从事博士后研究工作,自1991年至今在美国阿拉巴马(汉斯维尔校区)数学科学系工作,先后担任助理教授、副教授、正教授(2000年起),并于2005年起兼任该系系主任至今。

李佳教授研究领域包括微分方程、离散动力系统以及在生物学、生态学、流行病学等领域的应用, SCI源期刊发表论文60余篇他在艾滋病传播数学建模、年龄结构离散动力模型以及疟疾等传染病数学建模等领域做出的研究具有广泛的国际影响力,许多文章成为这一领域内的经典文献。李佳教授担任《Journal of Biological Dynamics》、《Mathematical Biosciences and Engineering》等生物数学领域知名期刊副主编,是国际生物数学领域有重要影响的专家。


报告摘要:In this talk, we first present dynamical models for the interactive wild and sterile mosquitoes where the mosquito population is assumed to be homogeneous. Based on the new modeling idea introduced by Professor Yu, only those sexually active sterile mosquitoes are included for the interactive dynamics. The mathematical analysis is more attractable. We focus on the strategy with which the sterile mosquitoes are released impulsively and periodically. In particular, with the waiting period between two consecutive releases greater than the sexual lifespan of the sterile mosquitoes, we establish thresholds and obtain sufficient and necessary conditions for the existence and uniqueness of a globally asymptotically stable periodic solution. We then present stage-structured mosquito population models where the wild mosquitoes consist of the larva and adult groups whereas the sterile mosquitoes are all adults and are also released impulsively and periodically. Fundamental analysis is given and numerical examples are provided to demonstrate our results. This talk is based on the joint works with Professors Shangbing Ai, Jianshe Yu, and Bo Zheng.
